Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Gotta fix rear pinion seal...

Pinion seal is leaking in the rearend... . how many quarts of oil does this sucker take? Dana 70.

replacing the pinion seal will not cause a loss of fluid. just pull rear flange and replace seal,,, nothing shud run out...

Also check the carier bearing. It can (somewhat) quietly fail and cause the vibration needed to loose the seal. The trans. or t-case seal might go too if the bearing is bad.

I should have clarified... . I am going to change the fluid simply for the sake of changing the fluid... . for the first time.
