Gotta Real Good Look At A Viper GTS R.

A new dealership off I 94 in Monticello has a Viper GTS R sitting outside. I couldnt' believe it. The place was closed and it was around 9:30 pm sunday and there was this 72,000 thousand dollar vehicle outside. It was yellow with two black racing stripes on the center of the viper. Very sharp. Wished I had my camera. Also had some tricked out Prowlers.

The lot must be waiting for the 02 to arrive. Kind of bare. Not much for trucks yet either One of the neatest dealerships I've ever seen. Sure is a big lot. They even had music playing on the speakers

I got to ride in Viper ACR a few weeks ago! Way cool! The thing would do about 80 mph in first gear! The ACR version has about 460 hp and a stiffer suspension. Real cramped inside (I'm 5'11", 230 lbs) and the ride was real stiff too. But, it was awesome! I even got to sit in the driver's seat, although I couldn't take it for drive. Oh well.

Playing in a Viper

As a high-performance driving instructor, I get to drive all sorts of cars... from stock to full-tilt-boogey. The Viper is without a doubt, the most fun of any American car, ever! The driving position is a bit funky as the pedals are off-set to the side... but it has the bottom end grunt no V-8 has, the top-end of a turbo car, and the brakes of a Porsche. For a showroom stocker, it is really a hoot to drive. Just my $. 02

Sure wish they'd option a HEMI into some of these things! As impressive as Vipers are, the V-10 just doesn't SOUND right.

how about not stock...

I saw a magizene article where John Henesey put a turbo(maybe twins) on one, and put it in the 900 RWHP range. I think I would probly kill myself in that car. I got a diesel to slow me down with the "slugglish" performance, man did I get the wrong engine, should have gotten a Ford!!!

I got to go to the Dodge Skip Barbor driving school. I did thge 2 day school as well as the 1 day advanced course. that viper is the most awsome car I have ever driven.

Got to Tangle with one last year

Last year about this time I was driving in my Barracuda and came accross one. I was going into the left hand turn lane and went past him. Gave her a little throttle as I drove by just to say hey and he jumped out behind me. Crazy ******* passed me on a two lane road right in the middle of town. It was two guys in buisness suits so I could not let that happen. He turned at the next light and I followed. I was behind him and we rolled about 10mph. He nailed it and I did the same. I was pulling him in pretty good until about 80 when I let off because I was to close to him. I didn't care to rearend a Viper if he decided to stop lol. I made my point to him though... some fish eat snakes



I wish it could have been a side by side deal or at the dragstrip for a better comparison. I wish I had my flat tappet cam back in then. Car was much faster with it. I bet anything I will see him again now that I have this boat anchor 360 in my car until my new 340 gets done (see sig for details)
