Howdy,

I'm looking for the part #'s for the 3800 and 4200 rpm springs. I think I got the right # for the 3200 (bosch 1-464-650-366) but I can't find the others.

3800rpm spring- subtract the 366 from the 3200rpm spring part number and add 374. 4200rpm spring add 354. Both will need some trimming as they are longer than stock and the 366 spring and don't work as good as they should in untrimmed condition. Clip off a few loops on the spring, then reshape a loop on the end.

Thanks for the #'s, I think I'll try the 3800 spring for now. Does anyone know how high I can run my engine safely.

3500rpm is usually the max safe rpm you can run without the need for 60# valve springs. Much more than 3500rpm with out 60lb springs you run the rist of floating a valve. I suggest installing 60# valve springs on both the exhaust and intake valves. With a trimmed to stock length 3800rpm spring, your pump will 'fuel' well beyond 4000rpm. At that speed w/ 60# valve springs, your plunger return springs in the injection pump become the weak link not the valve springs.

Well, I went down to Piers today and picked up a 3200 (I thought for the price I can throw in the 3800 later) I don't have time to do the valve springs right now. If I didn't bring my wife I think I would have left with a cam and some new injectors hahaha.

Kinda of like installing a "Governor Spring Kit" on the old wallet, to keep de-spending at a safe level, eh? ;)
