Ok... here's one for ya... ...

I installed a 3kGSK a couple weeks ago. Got done... wouldn't idle... bumped the idle up. . no big deal. The next day cold start was fine... love the extra RPMS. That day at lunch the truck started to hunt for idle when it was in gear. No stumble off idle even when it was hunting... if I play with the throttle and idle it up... it's fine. Since then it's like every once in a while it will still hunt... . hot or cold... . and my idle will be low when this happens. It's not a bothersome issue... just wierd. The truck runs like a reciently violated primate now. I have taken it back appart to measure and recheck my clicks on the gov springs... . they are even, and one kinda click, then 2 clicks. Any ideas guys?

I probably won't fix it unless it's something bad... I've beaten one ricer one mustang cause they think I'm heavily cam'ed or something... they wanna race at lights!

Measurements should be somewhere between 41-50k. I measured them before I took them apart and then put them back according to the measurements. .

Once I buttoned it up... . have never had a reason to pull it apart...

Rick

I don't remember the measurements, but they were almost identical when I was done... it was either WAY off or pretty close. I'm not really that worried... I just thought I'd pick a brain or 2.

Any ideas guys? I've heard it's a GSK and 370's thing..... that true?

Maybe it's just 247,000 miles! :D

I think you should be able to get rid of the hunt. Try adjusting one click up and one down from where you are. Then try calling PDR if it's still not right.

I might play with tme at our Dyno day on Saturday. (I see your in Wisc... You commin up? Check the Central forum for details) See what people think. I might just bump the idle up to about 900 and see what happens.

Or you could hold your left foot on the brake (transmission in gear) and raise the idle a bit with your right foot... just to see if the lope goes away. If it doesn't - then raising the idle won't help any...

I wouldn't mind if my '98 loped a bit - it would give it some character... maybe I ought to have you install a GSK in it. :)
