My truck start to defuel at 2300 and its shift point is at 2500 2600. It will run up to 2900 but really falls down. Is there a adjustment to get a few hundred more out of it? Or should I just adjust my transmission down a little?

A Piers governor spring kit would help alot to get it up to 3000 and make good power. There is a high idle screw that will give you a few more RPM's,but the govenor will still cut back fuel,so it won't really make any more power up there.

Sometimes the govenor will defuel enough to slow the truck before the next shift point is reached. Adjusting the shift points down a tad will help, but a Piers GSK will do much better and really wake the truck up. Sometimes sliding the plate forward a bit will help make more power which helps too.

Well,I found sliding the plate forward helps, and best of all it's free. My truck (when it was stock) would kinda fall flat about 23-2400,and the trans would not upshift, going no where fast. My first mod was to slid the stock plate full forward, and clamp off the wastegate hose. Nice power increase, and pulls hard till transmission shifts. You don't have to go full forward on the plate, try 1/8" at a time. It may be enough to get you by till you do you 4K GSK.

I already have no plate and sealed off wastegate. Truck pulls real hard after overdive and lockup becouse it pulls down the rpms better that all the other shifts.

Only other way without changing the govenor springs would be to adjust shift points down,or adjust with the high idle screw\govenor spring adjusting nuts.

If you raise the high idle your shifts points will go up accordingly due to the TV cable travel. You will have to readjust the cable afterwards.

You can crank the govenor spring adjustment nuts down one or two clicks, but idle speed will go up accordingly. This is supposed to give you a couple hundred RPM more, but I could never get it to work without problems (slow return to idle, stuttering off idle, etc),so i went back to stock settings. Give it a try,it's free, just keep track of what you do so you can go back if it doesn't work out.
