my truck stock + auto trans and it will not pull past 2400 rpm, i would like to turn it up a little say 3500 rpm. or do i need to get the cam plate first? my truck runs ok untill i tow with it then it's a real pig(reminds me of one of my old trucks ... one. 5. 7 and two. 6. 2 diesel)thanks for any help!

If it's pulling power you are after I would recommend the cam plate over the gov spring kit. The motor is really inefficient at high rpms (low fuel economy, high heat). That mod is only for quick acceleration runs.

My personal recommendation to you is to slid your stock camplate forward and slightly adjust your high idle screw.
If that is not enough, cut the stops off of the camplate and slide it farther forward. Plug your wastegate line and buy a pyro.

See what you can get for free first. Then start spending money when that is not enough.

I would agree with Strict9, that the Fuel plate would be a better first Modification. Made a huge diffence in my truck pulling my 27' fifth wheel. There would probably be some that would advise against moving the plate to far foreward. I have the #5 TST plate in mine, 255HP up 95HP from stock, for about $300.

Cam plate my recommendation also. Try a #8 it will give you appx 50 more hp. Should be okay on your drivetrain-watch out for lock up slippage between 1400 and 1700 rpm towing though.
