Ok guys I had an issue a couple months back where a dropped shim during my 3GSK kit ended up bending the stud the springs go on and causing the engine to run up RPM's uncontrollably. I fixed it by bending it back straight in the bore, removing the mangled shim, and it was good for a couple months. However it happened again yesterday and now the stud is definitly broken as it is VERY loose Does anyone know if this can be repaired without pulling the pump? Is it threaded in there? I really do not want to through a lot of money at this, so I need to know what my options are! Please Help!!!

Well I too accidently bent a gov stud a while back..... almost a year ago now. Fortunately it was bent back, and has survived pulling season this year so far!

I researched a little trying to find out how costly the repair would be..... its not pretty. The governot stud assembly is just that... ... a complete assembly. :{ The studs are actually welded to the governor, and you have to replace the whole unit you can't just replace the stud. The pump must come off the motor because it has to be disassembled. :( Oh yeah and you have to match up a governor assembly too..... at least that's what a few people told me. I. E. 180 pump to 180 pump and so on.

Let me know what you find out and decide to do because I know eventually I will have to repair mine.

Some other hp gov bucket assemblies fit and have the same weight to them, but you have to match them up. It is REALLY worth it to have a good Bosch guy do the changeout. You need special tools and experience helps. The back housing of the pump/governor has to be removed and there is linkage that has to be fitted up, not easy to do unless you have a lot of experience and talent. The pump does have to be removed.

So you bought a new 215HP pump? Did you ever get any quotes on repairing you exsisting pump? Just curious. :(

Ya I got a bunch ranging from $1100-1400 I called about 5 of the bigger pump shops and that price was for setting it up however I wanted, I have the exact price/shops in a post on the other site. They all charge $1000 for the core though and I think most you need to give a 215 if you want a 215 back...
