Just thought I would let you guys know that I and a buddy at work who specializes in VE's have found a design for a governer spring that we think might accomplish what you guys want to do. It is a "hybrid" spring and involves modifiying a variety of pump components to make it work. We will have to use some equipment at work to do it and hopefully we will have something by monday morining so we can give it a shot on the test bench.

Old Smokey, I would be interested in giving your modified AFC pin a try on a test pump. At least this will be a known spring that you have noticed a power increase from. I will compare it to the stock pin found in your truck to see if you really are gaining anything from increased travel. Please reply back ASAP so that I know if you are still interested and I can get an email address from you so I know where to send my mailing address.

dzlpwr,

Yeah, I think it would be neat to see what it does on a test stand. If it doesn't flow more fuel, it makes more power somehow. :D My stock pin was a 70 S. My email is -- email address removed --.

I'm curious too... ... Also, for the guys who got the AFC Kit a while back, have any more of you guys run them? What have you found in terms of the initial wear rates etc that seemed to crop up???

Update guys !!!!!

Bob.

We got a start on it awhile back, but the shop has been very busy lately and we haven't had any time to mess around with anything. We have been waiting for it to slow down so that we can work on the project, but have had no luck so far. (In a good way) Everytime I get a pump on the stand, it needs to go out ASAP. Sorry I haven't made any progress, but I will work on it when I get a chance.

It will be interesting to see how it performs. Good luck. Do you know what the 10 digit part number is by chance? Just curious. I would like to look it up and see what the application is.
