that Looks to me like a gen set motor and remember if you buy from gov Liq they also add on 10 % buyer charge and to boot most of the stuff they sell is the junk the police dept dont want . I am speaking from experience I deal with them weekly .

You use to beable to get stuff from the bases back when the Gov ran the auction's but with Gov Liq you dont get anything cheap they make sure the prices get up there and fast I have been around Gov surplus for most of my life and I am 47 now I remember going to auctions back with I was 17-18 and buying running car's for less then 200. 00

I remeber back in the early 70,s My dad bought 6 ford custom's sedan's all ran for $65. 00 drove em all home 2 at a time

had one that he drove with a rod knocking for over 150,000 miles and was still going when we junked it . Last truck I bought off them was a crewcab dodge 4x4 paid 1800. 00 but I doubled my money just on drive train . but that has been 6 yr's now Most of the time anything that is worth a darn gets taken by the sheriff, fire search and rescue dept all they have to do is sign a paper and they get the stuff for Free and yes I am talking Brand new stuff also . we had a local sheriff dept that was getting new chevy's trucks from Gov with less then 3000 miles on them keeping em for 6 months then holding auction's and getting over 5 grand for same truck

I guess you can say it's are Tax Dollar at work .

If they thought they could make a buck off of it they took it they had things that they had no idea what to do with em just so they could sell em Money hungry Fool's

There are a couple 1st gens on auction right now on the left coast.

Less than a day left on them.

They look like aircraft tow vehicles.

Not sure about the folks listed above. If you want direct surplus from the feds, it's the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service. They have locations around the country and try first to get other federal agencies to reuse items prior to public auction. I was stationed at Cheatham Annex in Williamsburg, Va. There was a DRMS depot and I went to several auctions.

The one thing about their auctions is that almost everything is by lot and not individual items. So to get a desk, you might have to bid on a pallet of 6 desks. Whatever you buy you must remove. We used to get Air Force stuff in that looked almost new. So it's a hit or miss deal.
