I've found that the best setting for my governor lever adjuster is to completely remove the screw. I've looked it up in the service manual and the most recent issue of TDR and it looks like I should be OK leaving the adjuster screw out. Does anyone foresee any problems?

Thanks,

Darel

I'm thinking, you might be on the main fuel ramp before your trans wants it to be! Watch your right foot! I wonder if the rocker will go off the ramp if it's that high?? Craig

Well, with the screw all the way out the lever sits right on the tip of the nose of my fuel plate. No problem there, except for the fact that I don't think I should have to adjust it that high. I'm more wondering if that screw performs any other function apart from adjustment, and from what I could see the screw doesn't hold the lever on or keep it from moving around once it's at the maximum.

What do you mean by "you might be on the main fuel ramp before your trans wants it to be"?

Any thoughts?

Darel

I just meant, lots of low rpm fuel and torque. The tip will be on the main fuel ramp sooner when you raise it. I don't know what the autos can take. Craig
