Do any of you guys know if there's a governor on a stock '07 5. 9? I'd like to find out to rub it in my uncle's face who drives a '06 PSD! HaHa!!! His cuts off at 95

Buy a Smarty, then set the max speed to whatever you want. Of course youll still redline but you shouldn't have any problem with 95. My 07 runs out somewhere in the 120-130 range not sure what. Top speed I've been in it was 121 according to my gps, it had just a little left but not sure how much. not much fun driving it th

Yes there is a governor, on the rpm's and speed. The engine is governed to 3200 rpm's and the chassis is speed limited to 110 mph relative.

Our Rams have an engine rpm governor that defuels at redline but each of the Rams I've owned would outrun every stock Ford or Chevy on the highway. My '01 would pull an Airsteam at 98 mph and would top out at 112 mph. My '06 topped out at 105 mph. I recently outran a new 6. 4 Ford on I-27 on my way to Amarillo. The driver tried to accelerate to keep me from passing and received embarrassment as his reward. My Ram, with about 225,000 miles on the odometer and an untouched engine easily accelerated right on past him and he couldn't keep up at top speed. As I eased past his driver's window I waved at him signalling, "come on. " He couldn't.

Invite your uncle to take his Ferd out on a long, deserted straight highway for a demonstration of the superior power and speed of a Cummins.

Harvey

On edit: My '01 Ram had a 3. 54 rear end and the '06 had a 4. 10. If your '07 has standard 3. 73 gears it will probably top out at about 112 to 115 mph.
