GPS coordinate information

I am looking for a website that I can enter a street address and get the Lat. and Long. to enter into a GPS for an upcoming trip. Anyone have ideas or a site? TIA

I believe that www.mapquest.com will give you the LAT/LON info you are looking for. It will not be exact but will get you close.

Fishjack, been looking at Mapquest all night and haven't found it yet. If you have Lat/Long, you can enter the values and plot a map. However, I haven't found out how to enter an address and get Lat/Long out of it. Thanks anyway.

This one I know works - give it a try. I may have been wrong about the MapQuest - I think you enter the LAT/LON that you know and it shows you the address. Sorry about that.

I have not tried this but you may want to - Go outside your house and get the Lat/Lon of your address and check the accuracy.

This just worked for me http://terraserver-usa.com/address.aspx

The lat and lon #s end up in the address bar, I checked them against a waypoint in my GPS. The geocode results also matched my waypoint.

Delorme's Topo USA & Microsoft's Streets and Trips provide GPS coordinates. I've been using Topo USA for several years and it's always been very accurate. I like Streets and Trips because it takes up a lot less space on the hard drive but still provides some decent mapping features. Topo USA has more terrain/elevation detail and info on things like springs, old mines, streams, etc. but it uses up almost 3gb of disk space if you decide to load all the map data to the hard drive.
