2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission GPS RB1 in a 98.5 ram

I was wondering how hard would it be to install the RB1 GPS radio from dodge in the older 98. 5 ram. i know the edges are rounded but other than that would there be any wiring problems?

I've heard that Dodge sells a kit that allows the new radios to fit the older trucks, but I don't know what the part number is.



I would like to know, because I'm looking at the same modification myself.

You sparked my interest... especially if there is a kit to make the new radios work in the older trucks.



Some of the higher-end audio systems in the 2nd/3rd Gen trucks have external amplifiers, right? Neither of my trucks have them fancy audio systems...



Sure would stink to get your head-unit all installed and find out that it only outputs line level voltage... and you don't have an amp.

it wont work i was informed that the bus systems are not the same and will not work w/ each other.
