I just got my gps tracking unit for my truck, pretty impressed with the unit. At least now I don't have to worry about the truck getting ripped off and me never seeing my truck again. And I don't have to worry about locking my keys in the truck again, whip out the phone and unlock the door.

Check it out at www.mycargps.com

Sounds better than LoJack!! With that system have to rely on police to support the system and not all do. At least that is what I am told.

It is better than lojack, you can get a pic of where your car is at, lojack doesn't give u that. there is a monthly fee of only 10 to 15 bucks, depending on what u want, but u can get a different unit that is just turned on when your truck is missing with no monthly fee.

I dunno I am on the fence with Lojack and the like GPS systems.

Ripped off yeah they still can. Never seeing it again ... in most cases you will get it back #ad
(If you want it after it's mollestation) let's face it the trollbag that stole it in the first place is not "Borrowing" it to go pick up supplies for his perfectly legal job at the jobsite. Nope instead it is going to be an abusive joyride then empty it out of anything valueable. BUT it is kinda sweet with options. Not to sound negative at all but just thinkspeaking out loud.

I hear what you are saying, but don't you get some value from an insurance discount??

GPS systems give the highest theft insurance discount possible...

but that's not that much :(

don't get me wrong, I love having GPS on my security system, but it is NOT a theft-proof system

You do get an insurance discount, I work at a collision shop, so I see theft recovery's all day long, and the ones with lojack or other gps systems always come in with alot less damage, atleast the theives have less time to trash things.

I still believe in the Club as a deterent. The theives can see it and move on to the next truck that'll be easier for them to take. I know it's not fool proof, but I do know that these *******s are looking for an easy mark, just making it more difficult for them.

Some do offer a discount (Like a pecentage) Take progressive:

Recovery Device Discount (not applicable in all states or for all products)

This type of theft device is a tracking system that will automatically contact a response center where a homing device can locate the vehicle. The discount applies to comprehensive coverage only.

Proof required:

Proof in the form of copy of window stickers, OR

If installed at a later time, a copy of the contract and installation, OR

Copy of a service agreement, OR

Letter from dealership, etc. , on company letterhead confirming installation of Homing Device/Tracking System/Recovery Device is required. The letter must specifically identify what type of device/system is installed.

Acceptable Tracking/Recovery Systems:

Forcetracker

OnStar - GM mobile tracking and security system

Visteon Rescu (Ford)

Alpine Electronics - Mobile Mayday System

Lojack

OnGuard/ATX Technologies

VEMS

Toyo Guard

Tele Aid (Mercedes)

Teletrac or Teletracer

the most amusing thing about the club is, yea it's almost impossible to cut through with hand tools but the steering wheel is mild steel thin wall tubing and can be hacked in short order, one cut and the club is out the window. when i changed my broken ignition switch a month or two ago i discovered it's too easy to steal one, the dealer never asked for any proof of ownership and just cut and coaded me a fresh key and switch in a hour, someone could case the joint and get your vin call it in and get a key and drive it off the next day/hour
