Hope this is the right forum. I want to by a

GPS for my Truck. Problem is that I can't use the parkways in and around NY,CT etc. Is there a GPS that can give car and truck routes?

I know some of the Garmin's can perform your request. Target has a low end Nuvi 205 w/4. 3" screen on sale right now for $99.

I have the 205 and I don't recall, at least at this moment, whether I can differentiate a truck route. It does give you route options but I don't recall that one.

To answers the OP the Delome company has one. It uses your own lap top and lets you plot trips in advance and save them. You also can high light all the pky and non com rts and the software will work around to get you there. about $100 or less for software and antenna. Delome is in Maine

about 2 years ago I bought a garmin reconditioned unit for about $145. I got it through Circuit city on line. Early on the Garmin units had truck routes, then the lower end models left that feature out. Then only special units came with the option. Try looking for a reconditioned older unit, You might find it cheap, I have a nuvi 350, it has truck routes, and most of the streetpilot series i believe has it too.
