Well, I tried and tried to use my four year old laptop with my new Garmin Legend GPS and it just wont work. When I turn on the computer the satellite signal strength goes away to nothing unless I keep the laptop at least 3 feet away from the GPS and also try to shield the back side with foil. I tried it with

another one (My wifes new laptop ) and it works fine. I tried every expert source I could think of and no one has a solution for this other than another Laptop. This one works fine so I don't think it's a actual problem with it just a compatability issue. I wish I would have bought a GPS with a external antenna jack, that may have solved my problems. To me it's not worth purchasing another computer.

I just wanted everyone to know that they may have problems trying to use older computers with GPS's

I have a gps on the windsheild and a 2 years old compac on the arm rest. Works fine for me. But it isnt a real old laptop. Can you fold under the platice behinh the screen? Maybe that would help and it would be hidden. Also let me know it you want to swap some mapping software.

SEMERSON, I'm not sure what you mean by fold under? I can still return the mapping software from Delorme( it hasn't been 30 days yet) so I think thats what I am going to do with that.
