2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission grab bar

Has anyone installed a grab bar on the inside of the driver side of the cab like the one on the passenger side? trying to make it easier to get into my truck without grabbing the steering wheel.

Yes I did this a long time ago. The mounting standoffs or what ever you want to call them were already there under the headliner on my '99. I just had to trim the headliner to make it fit. I undid the passenger side handle to see how much headliner I had to cut. It ended up looking OEM.

Thanks Roadwarrior - thats what I was hoping for - and mines a 99 too - gonna give it a try (did you just buy one of the passenger side handles from the dealer?)

No Problem and yes I bought it from a dealer.

I got a nice one at a junk yard for $5... I believe everything costs around $45 at the dealer.

wonder if this is the same for an 2001. 5 I would like to have a hand grab also; what was Dodge thinking when they did not install them. My passenger side grab is on the pillar so the headliner has nothing to do with it; the 99's must be different.

My '99 came with both handles on the passenger side.
