I got pretty tired of the typical 3rd gen steering wheel wearing down and feeling gummy so I looked around and found a direct replacement Grant wheel, they use factory wheels and recover them.

Its a very nice wheel, material and feel is great and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to upgrade there wheel. I found Summit had the cheapest price at $202 shipped and then Grant will pay $40 and shipping for the old wheel. Grant part number 64037 , only available in black but its more of a dark gray and looks good with the gray interior.

Install was easy, steering wheel puller is the only specialty tool and took about 30 minuets from disconnecting the battery's to reconnecting them.

I use this to get rid of that feeling and maintain the wheel. this and a micro fiber applicator takes care of the grime build up especially found on the finger grips along with body oils etc. and conditions the leather. And no it does not make a noticeable slippery surface.

Did you start to use it before the steering wheel wore? I suspect if a good product like that was used from the start it could help alot but not once the wheel starts to wear.

The Grant wheel does have a much nicer shape and feel then the stock one has new so thats a plus.

No, I started using it when the leather coating wore off a 8" section on the left side of the wheel and the leather became very rough. It managed to repair it all. I don't remember if it was the first coat but definately by the 3rd time all was well.
