Just flew up grapevine hill on I5 today. Pulled 65 in 5th the whole way. Passed everything pulling anything. Passed 2 Greyhound busses, had to move way over to the left lane to get by one of them. On the way down one Greyhound bus passed me and the driver honked and gave me the thumbs-up. Passed three powerstrokes pulling TTs and a couple of Ram gassers too. I cannot believe how well this thing pulls. 16,540lbs and I am totally impressed. My egt ran right at 1300 the whole way. I had to pull my foot out of it a couple of times when it crept up to 1350 as the speed got up to arround 70.

I have been looking forward to pulling this hill since I installed this engine. I had dreamed of how well it would do but I was not prepared for this.

I love this engine #ad

Larry,if you can keep up with traffic on the south bound Grapevine you can do most anything. Going down the other side has been worse for me,the traffic is usually moving 80-90+mph. I have more trouble and have to back off the throttle going up to Siskiyou Summit south of Ashland OR,how'd you do there?

Thanks Adam!

Yea, all with the stock plate . 030" forward of stock position, the injectors really make this thing grunt. I'm scared to move the plate more for fear of clutch slippage. If I put a clutch in I want to put in a new/improved output shaft/5th gear too so I'm looking at at least $2500 total, Then I'll for sure need Piers' help on pump work and an HX40 and a USgear overdrive, another $3500, HELP, I'M BOMBING AND I CAN'T STOP. Someone tell me where does it end, WAAAAAAA.

Bill
I had to drop to 4th three times comming down. That was one of the places but I still held 55mph with egt at 1300. The higher revs seem to cause more heat. I guess maybe the next step is an HX40. I don't know, I think I have enough power. It's almost boreing cause you only drive with the throttle pedal (not). I think I'm happy because the next step will cost a clutch too. #ad
