Came across this post regarding wearing the gear on a bike. Some very graphic ER photo's.

Riding a bike, I know all about that stuff now! I live across the street from work but wear my pants, jacket, gloves, boots, and helmet EVERY time I come over to work. I haven't dumped it yet, and yes I mean YET. It's not if it will happen, it is when it will happen, and I would rather be prepared for it then not. Is the gear hot? Sure! Would I rather be hot then seriously injured? You betcha!!!!



By the way, one of the BMW techs I work with rides an 05 DR 400 SM. I rode it once and it's a fun bike!

I ride in the woods not on the pavement. but i never throw a leg over without my gear on. i dont even play ride in the yard without a helmet. when i had my street bike i always rode with a helmet and blue jeans.



i cant stand to see these young idiots out wearing wife beater shirts and hanging on with one hand like they are cool. my younger brother wrecked his bike early this spring and had no insurance. $7K later and ******* blood he didnt feel so cool anymore. he did have protective gear on or it would have been a lot worse.



I ride hare scrambles that could best be described as riding as fast as you can through deer trails and thorugh trees that are 29" apart when your bike is 30" wide.

Yuk!, I don't think I was in the mood to see that stuff. If I ever do the bike thing, I'll be wearing body armor.
