Gray market ATV's ?

Anyone have any idea what's up with the price on this Honda.

2003 Ricon 650 for $3560, that's what, half price. Gotta be something fishy here.



If you look around on the ATV listings there's 3 or 4 similar priced Ricons. All 03 or 04s.



I remember a few years ago some gray market tractors and cars were available at great prices, just no dealer support. Don't know if that's the case here, just a thought.

That is a good price, I wonder what the "pre approved bidder" deal is. Maybe he can only sell them to people in certain areas or something. If you are looking for a honda email him and ask what the deal is, if it sounds fishy it probably is.

Probably a scam... lots of scams on ebay right now, and they're having a heck of a time controlling it.



Only takes one dumb person for a scammer to have a good day... don't be that dumb person.



Know a guy who sold his sled on ebay, and within 30 minutes it was "back up for auction" by a scammer for half price! Gotta watch out.



EDIT: Hmmm... . looks to be legit and the seller has all positive feedback. Maybe it is a good deal, but I will say again, be careful!

Dan, seems I read something along those lines few days ago. I agree, if it seems to good to be true, it likely is.

A few indicators that it's a scam is if there is no real city given (just US in this case - I've seen Free Shipping, US; Happy, US; etc), ridiculously low buy it now price, "Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only. " (although that doesn't necessarily mean it's a scam - just a flag along with the others), "Will ship worldwide. " (ESPECIALLY if they are offering free shipping - I mean come on, the sellers going to pay shipping from the US to australia on a $3000 item!?), and the last one is requiring wire transfer of the funds. It seems that motorcycles and ATV's are extremely popular items for people to run scams on unforetunately - I see them ALL the time. Here's another one that's on there right now:

The mark up on ATV's at dealers is really not that high. So I really doubt anyone on earth can afford to sell them for half price. Maybe the guys a billionaire and just likes helping everyone else get atv's. Dont get scammed.

I have restricted the bidding because I have had some problems with bidders

who offer me a price that is much greater than the retail price. They only

The buy it now price for this unit is 3500 USD including shipping.



The quads are brand new,completly working,0 miles,2004 model and they have 1

year manufacturers warranty too. All the manuals and the original

documentation are written in eight languages. You will receive your quad in

4-5 working days by FedEx at your home address. The title is clear and you

will register it in your country. I send all my items having written on them

''gift'' so you don't have to pay any additional taxes. I will send you the

item with all the papers (warranty,insurance etc ... ) .



The shipping costs and the insurance taxes of the package will be down to me

and you only pay for the money transfer commission when you wire the

funds,which is about 4% from the total amount sent. The unit is being shipped

from Lisbon,Portugal and you wont have to pay for customs or any additional

taxes when it arrive in your country. There may be some customs for you to

Why would a person interested in a Rincon care what he's selling Yamaha's newest racing quad for? And why would that person want a pair of them? Strange.

FedEx - HA!!!! Good luck getting them to ship something that big. That's how you know it's a scam. I had to get my fender shipped via frieght because is was to big for FedEx and UPS.
