well as usual it was time to change the oil in my truck. Normally I add three pumps of grease to the front ball joints, but because if a previous post I added more. IT TOOK 20 PUMPS intill grease issued from the joint. DC must give these a lick and a promise grease job from the factory.

Are you sure that you're suppose to grease until you see grease? Most grease fittings have an expanding rubber cavity that holds excess grease. If you see grease on that type it means you've ruptured the rubber.

I have overfilled mine, and all that happens is that the grease comes out the ends of the grease fitting/boot. When I was in High School, I overfilled my 75 Monte Carlos, and the fitting/boot, ruptured. It was different than when it comes out the end. Now I just fill it until I see the boot starting to bulge. Any more and I just get paranoid about it breaking. Hope this helps.

I needle injected grease into my upper ball joints they seemed to be dry. I put a little silicone sealant over the hole till next time. Somebody told me they have a teflon insert from the factory to lube them. I feel better with some good old grease. I can't believe DC makes a heavy duty work truck that can't be serviced. I'll do the tie rod ends next.

I got this tip from Surveyor Shelby, a mechanic friend told him to try this to see if it would help a wandering problem. He said to jack the front of the truck up and relieve the weight from the front axle, then squirt grease into the balljoints so it can lubricate where the weight ususally sits on them. I tried this on my truck and they took a few extra pumps this way. The steering did seem a little lighter after the greasing.

When I got my oil changed, I asked about the ball joints. He said they were sealed. What? #ad

Whats the deal? I know there must be some way to grese these.
