I have an 05 3500 and i am about to change the oil for the first time. On the front of the engine compartment there is a sticker to grease the front drive shaft when you change the oil. My question is whereon the shaft is the fitting or opening. Which end of the shaft? Frontor near the transfer case. Another question is what is the size of the hex wrench to open the fill plug to the 6-speed. I might as well do that while I am under it. Thanks for your help. Great truck so far(7800 mi. ) Oo.

There was a discussion about this a while back and, if I remember correctly, the consenses was that the drive shaft was lubed for life and the sticker was bogas. Hopefully someone will be able to post a link to the thread.

Do a search, I posted a picture of the shaft (think it's still up) and the grease fitting. It is in the center of the cardan joint by the t-case. I don't know if it's possible to grease it on the truck or not. It is a small fisheye fitting that will require a needle nose fitting on the grease gun.

So NO the sticker is not bogus :)
