Great Customer Service From Dealer And Dalmer, Seriously!
Well, my beloved rig is in @ less that 24month/41,000 miles for axles seals and brakes, ruined by the failed axle seals. Granted wimpy clutch, lift pumps and axle seals were known issues when I bought the truck, so I can live with shelling out for a SouthBend Clutch and even having to replace the axle seals and rear pads that had TONS of life left in them. (putting Porterfield R4S's in for those whom are curious)
Anyway, I had a vibration when closing the passenger's side quad door, and I discovered that the quad window was separating from the upper hinge. Well I get a call this morning from my dealership and they tell me "the only fix is a new part" and we're talking half a grand plus for part and labor, to which I replied, "it has to be fixed, but that sure seems like an unacceptable service life, less than 2yrs, regardless of mileage for a part like that, please see if they'll goodwill or prorate a portion of the repair. " Service advisor agreed to check into it. Fifteen minutes later I get a call back and DC's eating the entire cost of the window and repair!
Sure makes living with the known quirks a lot easier when you've got a manufacturer and dealership that can still see things from a customer's point of view from time to time.
So if you're watching Big Brother, or Big Brother's Disciples, THANK YOU.
You've saved me from having to make a real tough choice.
