I have been shopping for tires for a couple of weeks now and found a great deal at Costco. I wanted Michelin 235 85 R16 XPS Ribs and they were able to order them for me and install them with steel valve stems for $1091. 94 for all six!

Tire Rack wanted $1130. 00 just for the tires and I would have had to hassle with getting them installed.

I was quoted over $1400 and $1300 respectively by the two dealers we purchase our commercial tires for work through, so I am VERY pleased with the Costco deal. I also get a $50. 00 Visa gift card from Michelin for buying at least 4 Michelins this month :)

Thanks for the info. There have been several posts in the past year about good tire deals at Costco. Just may have to give them a look-see.

Just a counterpoint, I was able to get 265/75R16E LTX M/S tires for about $30 less expensive than Costco at Indy Tire here in Indiana.

I love Costco for many things, but I was able to find a better deal on tires.

I bought my last case of Mobil Delvac (4 gallons) for about $19 at Costco. Does anyone know if that was a good deal?

Didn't mean to make this an oil thread, just curious about Costco...

JRihani... some times the per tire price is one # and the out the door price that includes mount/bal/road hazzard/stems ect ect is very much different. . also they now use only nitrogen to fill a much better option and at no charge to the customer. . many thing to consider when buying... I have no idea if your pricing included all this info but am posting for all to be aware of these things if they they only look at the tire price only.

WillySlover, you are absolutely correct - you must compare "out the door" pricing. I was able to save $30 "out the door" in my example. This included tires, mounting, balancing, free air check and rotation for life, metal stems, etc. The nitrogen fill is very interesting, I noticed it the last time I went to Costco.

Side question again (I'm really not trying to hijack this thread) - what pressure are people running in SRW applications? Right now I'm runnin empty and have 45 PSI all the way around. Can I run even less in the rear when I'm running empty?

I've been buying tires at Costco for my truck and my other cars and trucks for years. They have always had the best price compared to every other local tire dealer around here.

Tom. . in a nut shell . . yes

drop by the nearest Costco to your they have a very good brochure about the nitrogen

they felt strong enough about it to buy and retro fit all their locations with it and NOT pass on any of the equipment charge to the member/customer
