should i be mad at my Dodge Dealer?

Need a new shop

I have a stock 98. 5 ISB 3500 dually. 95% of my driving is work and back on city streets. Maybe 30% of that is freeway at 15-55 mph rubber band style. Redlight jam ups because of rubber neckers looking at the traffic accident on the other side of the center median.

I am averaging 16. 0 mpg so far for the last 6,000 miles (6 months) since I bought the truck. I use about 40% filtered crankcase oil with my diesel fuel so the cost isn't so bad these days. Lots of lubricity there.

I seem to be averaging around 15 around town. .

I finally took a nice long trip to the west coast, which was probably great for the engine!!!

When I was going about 70MPH, I averaged 16. 7MPG for 392 miles...

Then I slowed it down through portland, a little around town, and over the highway to Newport (OR)... and back up to Troutdale. . I figure the average here was probably 55-65MPH and I maged to get 19. 7MPG!! Cool!! (Was hoping to see at least 20 out of it... ).

Then back from troutdale to home, at around 75MPH. . looks like I averaged only 17. 4MPG... Bummer.....

But... I finally got 10K miles on the truck, so I expect to see some more improvement over time... .

Next thing I need to do I suppose is the Air Box mod, and install an AMSOIL TwoStage Air Filter and I bet I'll see a few more mpg out of this thing. . :)
