I am sure there are a bunch of things I left out, I enjoyed it so much I cant remember it all.

DITTOES , Was really great and it was only the first annual event here. Looking forward to next years already.
A great seminar and question period by JOSEPH DONNELLY .
Lots of Bar-BQue Thanks to OUTLET MALL AUTOPLEX, Hillsboro http://www.outletautoplex.com
The weather was not as HOT as past week, and no rain, AGAIN.
A big Thank You to the Houston TDR,and all the other "Volunteers" .

I had a great time! Due to exemplary service, David Wilkerson is hereby restored to the caliber of . 243! (Just remember- one AW$HIT wipes out 1000 "Attaboys"!)

Also thanks to Jeff Clark, Southbound (who looked like he was doing all the work!), Dr. Joe (humidity keeps our skins moist & youthful-looking!), all the vendors, and especially all of y'all who came!

Late in the day a group of us were discussing next year's meet. One of the suggestions was to move it to March or April(cooler weather?).

I feel this would be a good idea, especially if the Boerne Superstore goes ahead with their plan for a fall meet- we could then get together twice a year!

What do y'all think? Sound off!

I wholeheartedly agree!!!March or April (except last 2 weeks of April) would workfor me. I am hosting a rally at Davis Mountains State Park at that time. As hard as I try, I can't be in 2 places @ 1 time.
The people who made this one great are working already on the next one. What a great job they did. Congradulations, guys. !!!

Hey guys! Well the rally is over and I am back at work. #ad
First of all I wanted to say thanks to all of you who helped out to make the rally happen. I think the rally was a huge success and should be an annual thing. I also wanted to say thanks to everybody for the donations. Mike (Chaw) and I were able to cover the cost for just about everything. I will be sending mailers out here real soon for suggestions on next years rally. Yes I agree that we should have the rally later in the Fall for cooler temperatures. I think I lost weight from the rally due to the heat. #ad
Thanks again folks for coming down for the rally... wow what a site. I still cant get over the line of trucks we had for the Ram and Run parade... true greatness!!! Hope everybody had a safe trip home and for those of you who are retired and traveling around the US ... be sure to think about us workin folks. #ad
Be careful out on the roads. Bye for now.

Glad to hear the Texas members had a successful rally. Thanks to all for their time and efforts in organizing the event. Send a write up and we'll get it into the TDR magazine.

Hey Southbound
Dont tell me you guys had to cover any expenses from your own pocket, thats not right. Tell it like it is so the guys can make it right. I am sure nobody expects you guys to pay for anything after all the work you put in so speak up.
John

I had a great time at the rally. I hope to get some of the goodies I bought on this weekend. Please let us know if the donations fell short of expenses. We will make it right.

Hey Bill----I talked to that old friend of yours today at football practice. He kept referring to you as "Wild Bill"?!?!?!? You will have to fill me in on the details next time we get together. He was kind of sketchy to say the least?!

Wow! What a great event! If I could change one thing, it would have been the weather and cut the humidity by 1/2.

A big thank you to Outlet Autoplex for bringing up the wonderful BBQ. There was plenty to go round and a little left over. Thanks to Joe Donnelly for making the trip from Henderson, NV. to speak at the rally. Me and Southbound managed to get a ride in "Sickly" for a bribe of buying dinner. Let me just say I thought my truck was somewhat powerful. #ad

I did not want to discuss the funding of the rally here, but felt some members were interested after I read the above posts. I will edit this part if requested.

Two people drove down to check out and secure the site in July. (Me and Jeff Clark. We were accompanied by Dick Madison and Lance Poole) I booked the site at a cost of $100. 00. I spent a very small amount of additional funds.

Lance Poole (Southbound) rented some extra chairs, PA system, made all copies, and other things. He spent ~$220. 00 Lance was in charge of collecting the donation box and we recieved $278. 00 He reimbursed me the $100. 00 for the Pavilion and kept $178. 00. Bill Stockard gave an additional amount in the campground.

I do know that Jeff Clark, 243, and others had expenses. I just don't know how much. It is my understanding that we will attempt to make this an annual event.

I took some pictures of the rally. Some came out better than others. You can see them here: Texas Rally

The only money I had in the rally was the cost of the dash plaques I made. That was my donation and I don't expect any money back.

Had a great time and look forward to next year.
