I am not a big mud flap fan, but have run them on every vehicle that I have owned (that I cared about) to keep my lower body panels from getting all banged and chipped up. So, when I picked up my 2006 Mega in metallic black, I knew that with the white primer the first rock chip was going to show up really bad.
I bought a full set of DuraFlaps (http://www.kaydenco.com/index.html). Just plain old DuraFlaps, without the stainless doo-dads. These are the perfect flap. First, they do not wrap around on the body panel so they don't rub on the paint. Second, they come out far enough to fully cover the tire but not too far - they do not stick out and look goofy. Third, my favorite thing is that they hang quite low so they provide full coverage but there is about 6 inches of ground clearance so they do not get hung up on curbs. I highly recommend these.
