I have found something that I think everyone will be interested in. This is a new step that hooks to your radiator support and allows full access to service your engine. I've tried it and it works. It installs in seconds and is can be folded up and stored under your rear seat or behind the seat in a standard cab. It will work on any model from 1994 through current, and was developed by a couple of guys that are Ram owners. I've attached pictures of my truck and me standing on the step. The step is made of aluminum, it's light, and will hold my big butt so you can tell it's built strong. Check out the web site for more information. www.mtco.com/~hvac1/steponehomepage.html

Link didn't work for me. I've also seen steps that double as the license plate holder, hinges down to get up to the engine. Don't think it would be of much use for extended work due to the small size but would be great for a short service.

The link worked for me and the product looks good. I like the fact that it covers the radiator/intercooler/condensor, so you don't scrape up your knees and dent the fins.

How much does it weigh?

Doc

I have a better question more pertinent to those of us who are more prone to the table disease. (Can't seem to get up after we sit down at the diner table)

How much weight will it support? ;)

The step is about 2 1/2 feet wide. It's a lot better than the fold down license plate. As far as the weight, not so bad.

Oh ya, I'm not sure of it's designed payload, but I'm 6'3" and 310 lbs. I can jump up and down on it, no problem.

Also, I tried posting some pictures but I got a message saying the image can not be larger than 400x400. I guess that's the resolution. Does anyone know? How can I post more than one pic on a thread? This page would only let me do one file. Or email me and I'll send you the pictures that way.

WOW did you see the price?? For $249 plus shipping I think I will keep using my $5 bucket to stand on. .

That thing doesn't look like it will work if you have a brush guard or a winch. Only hangs on the front. Anyway, if I wanted one it wouldn't take too long or very much money to make. I would rather spend my money on goodies I can't make. In 171K miles I have only been in one situation where I could have used it. If I'm at home I have benchs I made to use in my garage. Not worth the money as far as I can tell.

Weight & Pics

310 pounds sounds like the HWT division to me, but alas I'm in the SuperHWT division. ;)

I second what EMD said about the Topside creeper, only I saw two of them listed. $199. 99 for the first, $299. 99 for the other. Neve could tell what the dif was but the part# was different Wonder if the more expensive one has a higher payload. ;)
