Hello All.
Thanks Happy Camper, you where correct on this product.
I ordered a hitch for my 2500 2001. 5 HO 6 speed 4X4. I finally got a chance to put it in on Sunday. Again Thanks Happy Camper the hardest part to this install was drilling the 4 inch hole in the truck bed. A good friend of mine ( even though he drives a chevy) let me borrow his 4 inch hole saw and drill.
The only advise I have to anyone who buys this product is to remove the spare tire and take off the rear wheels for more room to work. I found it much easier to install the cross bars from the rear end. The tires will have to come off in order to torque all the bolts to 90 FtLbs. As far as install time it took most of a Sunday afternoon, of course that includes watching TRUCKS and CRANK AND CROME on TNN.
All the bolts are GRADE 8. The parts come in two boxes. I took the time to clean them and paint them with a couple of coats of black spray paint prior to installing them.
Tonight I started hooking up the Elect connection in the bed. I called it quits after my solder gun started shooting sparks at me. Time for a new one.
30k and 18k for the gooseneck and the 5er are more than what I need. I still have the bed of my truck to haul what ever I want to.
Great product.
See Ya
Chris
