After reading all the horror stories on the board about that first oil change i talked to mechanic buddy of mine to get some advice on the best tool to use for the filter. He suggested some slip joint oil filter pliers from Harbor Freight Tools, under 10 bucks on sale. I completed my first oil change today at 2176 miles and they worked great. They have nice sharp teeth on them to grip the filter at the top where it will not just collapse, and the tip about the 1 gallon zip lock bag over the filter to avoid the mess worked great did not spill a drop. Got that from another post thanks to who ever it was.
