Check this vintage 5er...and what tows it!

Alan,

$7K paint option? Wow! . . Looks Like you are almost set up. What tires did you get? I have the Michelin XDE-MS 245 70R-19. 5". . They are down to 9/32nds and I inquired about a retread. . there is a thing called a "Ring tread" . . it is a retread that is in a loop, not flat. it is stretched over the tire, then vulcanized to the carcass after grinding off the remaining tread. at les Schwab. it is $128 per tire mounted. . not bad for a $300+ tire. . Might do this either next year or the year after. .

So you insulated the floor under the bathroom and bedroom? Good. if you have a short pantry next to the fridge, put a layer along the back wall and the cabinet above the fridge if you have it. I also did a 2nd A/C over the bedroom. . don't know how hot it gets there but this helped big time. . the 5500 gen will run both on low no problem.

Did you check the front cap insulation? It was only a 1/2" lightweight pad in mine that slipped down. . if you have an angled panel in the closet at the top edge, remove this panel carefully as it has nails into aluminum, then if you do have no insulation due to slipping, put strips of 8' insulation in here and let it fall down til you build it up to the roof. .

Great looking Raptor. . have not seen that paint job on the road. . and I drive 514 miles a day . 5 days a week. (Trucking) in wyoming so you have a unique model.

Giving my age up on this one, but I remember when boats like that were all you could see out on the open road towing trailers on summer vacations.

YUP - me too - never was too deep into Mopar stuff - I favored the old Caddy boatanchors - here's the one I restored ('70 Caddy Coupe De Ville convertible) after I retired in '96 - unfortunately, the finer details such as the wheels and pinstriping don't show well in these old photos:

Hated to sell it - but another Caddy lover bought it - it had the 472/th400 setup - nice power and ride. 13 MPG...

Haven't even had time to go anywhere yet and on top of that,I needed to get my Dodge up to standard's to even safely tow this thing. Hoping e-brake will be installed next week!! My bed is parallel to the road and has a side closet that slides out..... 2010 361LEV. I will let you know if I nnotice a lot of heat around the fridge. In a lot of regards, the build quality exceeds that of my old 04'Winnebago but then certain things it seems that Keystone cheaped out on. I don't care... . I think it is a good unit regardless and whatever pops up that requires attention,I will just upgrade it. The fact that I pay a 3rd of the insurance,I paid a 3rd of what it would cost to replace my old MH and everything is now in my name vs. sharing ownership with an X-wife. I already owned my truck so I didn't need to purchase a $50k dollar truck to pull it. It is all win for me and I like the rig!!!
