Great trip-good mpg

Travelled to and from The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs W. VA from Norfolk- just under five hours each way- a lot of mountain grades - avg 75+ mph- with 4. 10 gears got avg of just under 15mpg- unloaded with OD off for stretches of steep grades- near 3 grand rpm- I really liked the power and it may be my imagination but the BHAF seems to have given it a kick in the pants- have 7800 miles on it and mileage seems to be increasing slightly- the low gear really does make a difference in the steep stuff- saw an interesting set-up on a 3500 CTD Dually going the other way- a car carrier mounted on the bed diagonally- he had two small sedans and a Ford Escape on the thing and was bringing it up those grades!!!!

I wouldnt think you would have to kick out the OD unloaded? I get about 20-21mpg unloaded.

Didn't have to I thought on steep grades that it was better to do that- the computer shows 17+ mpg on a straight run but the total number is all around after I pull in the driveway- I will never see your mpg numbers with this truck I believe

I get about the same as you, some get more, some get less, we are about average. Different trucks get different mileage, different driveing technics, different mileage, different aftermarket products, different mileage, the moral we are about average.



If your happy with your truck, thats the main thing, I'am happy with my truck now that I've added some upgrades.

Your tuck isnt broke in either, Mine broke in at about 20k. I bet you will see a differance. And yes WELCOME!

Drove from NYC to Naples Florida returning home last night. Roundtrip miles were 2854. MPG shot to 22/23. Avg speed was 70-75 with occasional runs at 80. Truck now has 12K miles.
