Carlton Bale just posted the real story the other day and the brake has not been approved as yet. It will not be available until at least August when the '05's come out. Some of the '04. 5's may be able to have a flash, but the problem is with the hardware and earlier models will not be able to use the approved e brake. The TL article was optomistic to say the least.

Edit: This is all you might want to know or not to know about the brake approval: https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76813&perpage=15&pagenumber=1

The infor that I was referring to is on page 8 of that post. I told my salesman about it and he had the same info from D/C. Carlton has been kind enough to keep us informed about the status of the e-brake and he is the engineer at Cummins that is very involved in the project.

I'm sure Greg Whale knows the difference, but what he writes may not be the same as it appears in the magazine. Editors edit the writers submissions to accommodate the available space. A key word or two may have been omitted/edited out to make the article fit in the allocated space.

I take what I read in "Trailer Life" with a grain of salt...

Yea I saw him on RV Today too He is a real skinny dude. I think he's been driving too many gas jobs lately, losing weight needs to drive his Cummins Tug Boat more.

Thanks to all. I did receive a reply direct from Greg Whale on another source. He said the Dodge spokesman said YES at the time the article went to press but that it is NOT approved at this time... thanks for your input.

BTW if you saw that, you saw Bill Gehr from Bill's RV Service in Ventura working with Stu on replacing the Air Conditioner gasket on MY 92' Prowler 26B travel trailer. My wife sure was glad that we had just cleaned the filter.

Bill is one of my best friends. We travel together all the time. He never thought my current truck (95 Dodge 1500 5. 9l 360 gas) would last! Has 108K on it with probably 30K of it pulling my trailer and 2 jetski's.
