Grey Box under dash, what is it?

While running boost tubing and wiring harnesses for my gauges, I noticed a grey box about 4in by 5in under the dash. It has three adjustable pots on it and says dana on the box. Its plugged into a wiring harness. Any one know what this is?

I'll be happy to look in my 92, but I'd like a better location for this thing. Like "directly over the fuel pedal" or "behind the glove box", or "behind the heater/ac control".

ABS box?? Just a guess, since it says Dana on it... . I've never looked at mine too closely before, so I can't verify the pots... . the ABS box is right behind the glovebox if you detatch the top and let it swing down fully. It's got a wirig harness plugged into it, and it's grey, about 4" x 5".

could it be a brake controller for a trailer? Maybe from a previous owner

Considering the length of the wire going to it, it would probably make it over to the Glove Box. This truck was purchased new by uncle, he pulled a very small travel trailer with it infrequently. If I ask my uncle what work he had done to it, he wont know what I'm talking about. He always did his own oil changes but everything else he paid to have done. It does have a Techonsha commander brake controller on it but it is not hooked to this box. I am starting to think it is the abs controller and some body moved it for whatever reason. Guess I will look behind the glove box and see if the ABS controller is there. Thanks Guy's.



Greenleaf- Thanks for the offer but I will enjoy learning more about how this monster goes together once I get a couple day to take my time with it.



DBF- It was jammed right above the Emergency brake really cluttering things up. If it is the ABS I will be moving back to it proper home to clean up some the rats nest I had to deal with while instaling guages.

Aftermarket cruise control box? It would explain the pots. Or, a reciever for remote car starter. If it's for ABS I can't believe DC put enough wire for it to reach that far. Keep us informed!
