I swapped a 12v into my F450 not too long ago. The weather is getting colder and I really should get the grid heater hooked up. Just curious how many amps they draw so I can buy the proper relay/solenoid and fuses.

Thanks in advance.

They draw 95 amps each. Some have used starter relays for them. I replaced my factory relays with Stanco relays part no. 120-902. You can get them from Allied Electronics for about $13 each if I remember correctly. (800) 433-5700. There is a write up on them in TDR issue 52.

They are each connected directly to the battery through the relays and protected with 12 gauge fusible links.

The Stancor relays are excellent. I am using one as a replacement for the shutdown solenoid relay.
