When the "wait to start" light goes out, do the grid heaters cycle off? I know that my gauage lights and head lights(was just testing my theory, dont usually start with head lights on) come back to full "strength" when the wait to start light goes off, which would make me think that they turn off or atleast cycle down in draw when the light goes off.

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance.

yes the heaters will come on untill the "waite to start" goes off and then it will cycle a few more times after the motor is running,

its normal!

hope this helps!

Cool thanks Scott,

Yeah I know its normal, I'm trying to figure out which remote start to get on my truck. I'm having a hard time finding one that taps the wait to start circuit on a cummins. Apperantly there has been trouble with that set up in the past. I have a buddy that owns a car audio shop and we talked to a rep from DEI ( which makes/markets basically every system) and he said that they dont make em/carry em for cummins anymore.

I was wondering if the heaters stay on after the wait to start, so that I could figure out if a timer on the remote start would be worth it. I was concerned abotu the heaters running too long and causing damage to them or running down my batteries. But if they shut down after the light goes off, there would not be a problem if the timer was set for 25sec delay.

Thanks for your help,

J-

Also if anyone knows of a currently marketed remote start that taps the wait to start circuit, let me know, as this would be the prefered method.

any starter that will work with a diesel. some tap the "wait to start light" wire

and some run off a timmer that you can set winter longer or summer shorter, i have one that runs off a Timmer
