Has any one replaced there heater with a spacer block. the newer trucks are not wired up so why not get it out of the system for better flow. and is there a spacer being made to replace the heater.

I am in Michigan so I need it as many months as not, but I would think ditching the grid heater would add more airflow than the aftermarket intake horns. Those fins take up a bunch of space.

Can you please clarify that? My 06 has cycled the grid heater several times recently because its been fairly cool in the mornings. If it is not the grid heater heating up then what is it that makes such a huge current draw and turns on the grid heater light?

So may be thats why I thought it was not hooked up . I wonder what the air flow differance really would be.

Yea this would be a definite before and after Dyno deal here. Its easy enough to do on the truck while its still strapped in. Oo.
