Has anyone noticed "bubbles" appearing under the chrome on their grills? I've recently noticed two different spots on the front of my 97. Both are irregular in shape, and measure about 1 1/2" in each direction. What causes this? It looks like the chrome is wanting to seperate from the plastic, but why?... ..... DDG

that' what it is. for some reason the chrome sheet on top turns loose and bubbles up. mine did it right in the middle of the grill, where the bars cross at. I thought it may have been heat related but the service guy said he had never seen it before. it was a warranty item so they wouldn't let me keep it. most people said they didn't notice it, but I could.

After a wreck last december the grill was replaced and it had a bubble in it and was warrantied one year and was replaced by DC parts dept,I don't know the cause but have seen this on all brands, lamanited parts are not as good as the old metal ones period.

Make a big stink if the dealer gives you any guff. My friend is a service manager at a 5 star dodge dealer and if you squawk enough, they'll warranty it out under a customer relations policy.

I had to have the grill replaced on my 2001 (Sport pkg. , all black, no chrome) the paint had lifted off in 2 places, the size of half dollar coins... quite a few of my buddies on here can attest to how bad it was, they all saw it at Scheid's Diesel Extravaganza a few months ago. I'm wondering how long THIS one will last, probably till a month past my warranty expiration date? Earl Scheib is alive and well, and managing DC's paint operations...

90 GMC was great for doing this. Replacement grill would last no time until bubble again. Replaced with an aftermarket product. You would think after 10 years or so they could come up with better bonding.

Mine is doing the same thing. First noticed it a year ago, but it hasn't actually fell apart yet. So far it's only bubbled up in a couple spots.
