I want to put some kind of front end protection on the front of my new Dodge when I get it. It seems I read that putting on aftermarket bumpers could adversely affect air bag operation.

We have a lot of Dodge pickups in my town. Some of the Dodge's have massive steel bumpers installed. We have a really bad deer problem in this area, especially in town. After doing $5000 worth of damage to my new Accord 1 1/2 years ago (40 miles from the nearest town), I immediately put one of those chrome grill guards on my 2001 GMC. I don't think these guards will do much for you in regards to saving sheet metal but may keep the radiator intact so you can make it home, my main motivation.

On my next "protection purchase" I won't buy a guard that covers the headlights. I get a bad glare off the back of the chrome and I think the guard reduces the headlight output. I'm going to try & find a stronger bumper that just has radiator protection. Might try to find some aftermarket rear bumpers, too. Something that will actually protect the rear end.
