Grid Heater Cycles Until I...

Get on the highway or atleast maintain 45 MPH for a few seconds. This just started a few weeks ago. Any ideas on what is causing it? My batteries are not taking it too well...

its due to the cold air... . will cycle until it gets to a certain temp.

It does it even if the engine is up too operating temp...

I don't know about the grid heater relays in our Dodges, but I have seen relays stick in other electronics applications.

For what it's worth, on my 2002 the grid heaters seem to stop cycling once the truck reaches about 15-20 mph.

grid heaters are probably sticking on. relays are on the inside lh. fender just behind the battery down low.
