TWINS are in the future

vendor is HTT, price is dependent on quanity. if serious, please pm me. no details yet, but i'm sure things can be worked out. as of right now, just wanted to put some feelers out for the amount of interest.

BHT3B has a reverse rotation. The output of the compressor would point toward the battery if it were on top. HT3B's are available undevided as well.

The guy I talked to at HiTech last fall described the BHT3B as having a slightly wider MAP range than the HT3B but is slightly less efficient, but recommended the B model over the other in a street twin set up on the CTD. I wasn't aware of it had a reverse rotation.

Which one works out better for the plumbing, etc. ?

-Jay

The BHT3B is the turbo you want for a twin set up. The BHT3B is a newer design. The HT3B is based off a 30 year old design. Not saying it will not work, and that no one has used it or is using it but I have been told by several venders that you want to go with a BHT3B in a twin application. IMO.

Part numbers for a BHT3B with a 26 exhaust housing are:

Cummins: 3803279

Hoset: 3529040

Garrett:144700-0000

Schweitzer: 167050

I personally would go with the Schweitzer. I have found the Schweitzer BHT3B for 490. 00 new with no core. That was with the Schweitzer part number.

Lucas

Yep. Those are the numbers given to me by HiTech as BHT3B equivalents.

Anyone care to elaborate on "divided" and "undivided" housings on the 2 versions? HiTech described the BHT3B as having a "slotted" housing. I didn't get a chance to go into details with him.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but if a group buy is coming together, I'd like to make sure its for the best option.

-Jay

The BHT3B and the HT3B have the same rotation. The turbine inlet, and the compressor outlet are oriented the same. The BHT3B has map width enhancement (slots in the compressor housing). The divided (dual, or pulse style) and undevided (single entry) housings will fit both chargers (22-36cm2).

Ok, I can admit I may have passed along false information. For that I apologize. Anybody tell me the number of the unit with reverse rotation?

-Scott

The B2 is reverse rotation. the BHT3B is used in several twin setups. It works great.

Swank, what quantity did HTT say you needed to get a good discount?

After riding in IdahoCTD truck I would never use an HT3B in twin configuration again. His spool up was awesome and the sound of that charger was incredible, his egt's were only 475 degrees at 70mph, and with his bullydog programmer wide open and Don M injectors he didn't go over 1280 degrees and he went full throttle to 100-105mph. Oo. :--)

What charger is he using?
