well I got my truck back from dealer after draining the tank etc. Got 5 gallons of diesel from a country diesel station (near dealer), drove it for 2 days, then filled up at a truck stop. Everyting was fine, but about 200 miles later, or half a tank, my water in fuel light would come on when I came to a stop, for only a second then go off. Started happening more frequently. I filled up and added some Power Kleener. WIF light stays on. Ran it about 70 miles on new tank... light stays on. Never a power loss or sputtering or anything. WTH do y'all think is going on? I find it hard to believe I got another load of bad fuel. Appreciate any opinions.

Water in fuel isn't really a big deal. I just got 4 gallons of water in my 97 this week. I have also had the wife put gas in before. And got water on other time. All you need to do is drain out the water. This can be done at the seperator or by pulling off a line and pumping the tank out till you get fuel. The water in fuel light will come on with about 1/2 " of water in the seperator. This is way before it will get in the injection pump. So you have time to pull over and pull the lever before you have any problems. And if it is so bad that you do have to pump out of the tank, water and fuel seperate great. You can just put it is a clear contanier and drain the bottem off. Put a lid on it flip it over and loosen the lid to leak out the water. Then put the fuel back in. The dealer is a rip off for this. Thay make way too big of a deal out of it.

you might want to make sure the contacts are good and clean in the fuel filter assembly. the contacts are the WIF sensor. i had got a little bit of water in it so i drained it then put a new filter in it. got it running again and still had the light on. drove it for a while and it wouldnt' go out. so i changed the filter again but this time i took a shot of 2 + 2 and sprayed on the contacts to make sure they were clean. reassembled everything and all is good now.
