The Truth - Gun Control

Mom and I went to the local "discount" store to pick up a few more things for the trailer... dishes and such. The checker started yaking with the checker behind her while running our stuff through. I said "please do not talk to your friend while counting my money", she just looked at me and continued yaking, I asked her to pay attention to my order, another stupid look. So we left, yeah just walked out. Wifey says I am turning into a grumpy old man. My feeling is that if they want my money they should serve me rather than socialize while adding up how much they will remove from my wallet. Maybe I expect too much... . Just wanted to ask the bros out there what they thought... don't hold back, I can take it!

That's about the norm for service anymore. I usually try to ignore it and make sure I get what I paid for and pay for what I get. If the service is too bad, I'll try to avoid that cashier or even try to avoid the store altogether.

I Thought It Was Just Me.

I'm not sure if I'm getting crankier, or is it that the young kids behind the counters/registers just not being taught to respect others, along with all the other values taught to us as kids.

:(

I had a similar experience at the local grocery store. You know as well as I do that we expect to hear "Thank You and have a nice day" from the cashiers and that when they don't say it, a light goes on in our head and it really seems rude.

I've been noticing it over the past few years once in a while when they don't say it. The other week I had enough and after I didn't hear it I pushed the cart full of bagged groceries over to the side and spotted the manager. I told him that if he wanted my business then he better train his cashiers how to thank me for shopping at his store. Of course he was appologetic and said he would take care of it. Then last week the same cashier didn't say "thank you" again. I spotted the same manger and demanded a refund for his cashiers rudeness. He tried everything in the book to get me to not want a refund but I insisted and he did as I asked. I told him after I got the refund that I would never step foot in his store again. While I was walking out I could hear him chewing out the cashier. I left and went to a rival store and spent another hour and a half figuring out where everything was in the new store. You just know he made the little brat put all $213. 00 worth of groceries up herself if he didn't fire her first.

Now your cookin with gas! Wait till I show the wife this post, it is not just me babe... lots of people are tired of this lousy attitude. Ya did good!;)

Got a few years yet before grumpy & old are put together and until then I will enjoy the free items that the slackers at the register forget to scan and put in my bag - Yep sometimes they scan something twice and you have to slap them up side the head but more often then not their error is in my favor.
