Can anyone post (or pm ) the installation directions for these things ?

I would like to see the pictures and look them over at the pump so I can figure how tough it would be to do this for me.

Thanks in advance.

They are out there someplace. Fritz's site or Piers' can't remember. It's not that hard to do. Order the kit and get your own hard copy.

Sent you a PM with a diagram of the governor setup

I had a customer that was worried about doing the install himself, so I made a website to walk him through the install. He said it really helped him. Maybe it will help you too.

I talked to piers a while back. I have one that runs rough from idle to 1200 rpm. Then is pretty smooth after that. I'm wondering if I checked the stud protrusion. Then possible back it out maybe a little.

It never hurts to try to adjust them as it is easy to undo if it doesnt help any and may solve the problem. There doesnt seem to be any universal "right" place for the adjustment to be, every truck responds a little differently.

:( Wish I would have known about that website when I was doing mine... Not that it wasn't a big deal, I just like to see/know as much as I can before hand, and I thought Piers instructions could have been a little better.

Thank you

Thanks for the help with this. You guys are the greatest.

It doesn't seem to be too bad. I might just have to try it. :D

Does a properly adjusted 3K kit always have a stumble or is it something that when "tuned" right is not there and it is as smooth as stock? Thanks

Another Question??

Chris, I seem to remember that Pier's instructions for the 3000 GSK refers to shims under the springs. (Am at work now and don't have the instructions here to refer to. ) And that you were to remove all the shims except the shim under the outside (idle) spring and then reassemble. Your site doesn't mention the shims. Have I missed anything? I removed the inner (2) springs and left the O. D. shim in place B/4 reassembly.

Thanks, gmikep.

Shims

Mike, I installed a set of 3000 GSK last Sat. and there was not any shims on it, I checked real close with magnet, this was on a 97. Now my 96 had shims on it, so from my limited experience. . my guess is some do and some don't.
