BIG DIFFERENCE! If you just tighten your stock springs you will get more RPM's out of it, but you pump will not fuel at that level without the correct springs for it.
I speak from personal experience. When I bought my current truck the PO told me it had a 3K GSK. Well after installing HD valve springs for 4K RPM preperation for sled pulling I could go WOT without worrying about floating a valve. WOT my truck would rev all the way to 4K RPM's, however it was definately not getting fuel there. Went to install the baby spring to the existing 3K GSK and found the stock springs. Swaped out the sets and noticed a BIG difference, faster revs and more power up top. Now I can run her up to 4500RPM's before letting my clutch out when pulling. I'm not on my home computer or I would put some video's up. 1) with stock GS's tightened down, 2) with full 4K GSK you can visably see the difference (ie smoke :-laf )
