My aftermarket guages in my 94 dodge 2500, 3 pod, keep burning up $18 light switch. Are 3 extra lights going threw that switch to much for it? We took apart the swtch and nothing seems to be melted and it isnt even blowing fuses.

Possibly a bad (poor connection) ground or power circuit to the 3 pod.

A bad connection will cause high resistance so more amps will be drawn from the light switch, more amps than the bulbs need.

IF this helps we found a break in the circuit board of the reostat one different time on each light/dimmer switch.

Wow! Great price (if you are talking about the headlight switch). I paid $80+ for mine five years ago, and $120 for the one I got last month.

Are you running the lights dimmed? The oem switch cannot scrub off enough heat and they WILL melt. There is a TSB on this. Many have just drilled a hole in the vent to provide cooling.

Schucks with discount $18 and Napa w/discount $19. Oops I also forgot to mention we installed clearance lights at the same time, but now we have a relay for the clearance lights. We just need to figure out how to wire that in.

Are you able to measure the current of the cct??? You can take the voltage supply and run it throught a coil of a relay and have it turn on a relay and run it fused. This will save the trucks electrical system.
