guage lights

i posted this on another board, but i thought it might get more exposure here. just bought a genos dipricol boost guage and i need to hook up the lights. how exactly do you tap into a fuse box? looks impossible to get to from underneath on the inside. thanks. scott.

scott, just run a wire over to the wire to the light in the ashtray. that way, the gauge light will dim with the dash lights. lots easier than messing with the fuse box, or light switch.

Scott, look in the fuse box (drivers door/dash) you will see illum.

I tied into this wire. It is very easy.

You are going through what I just went through.

ashtray

yeah, there is a light in the ashtray, at least on my 01. 5. altho there are some good fuse taps, some destroy the fuse connection. if you have a light in the ashtray, the wire to it is hooked into the dashlights, therefore dims with the dash lights. worked great for me.
