Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Guage Malfunctioning

My brother recently bought a 2001 CTD 4x4 Ext cab. It has approx 22000 miles on the truck. Recently he noticed that after about 10 minutes the oil pressure gauge will go to zero and the dash light says to check gauges.



He stopped and checked his oil and found that everything was fine. He says that this is consistent at about 10 minutes after startup. I told him it would probably be the oil pressure sender.



What should we troubleshoot for this issue?

Thats what it sounds like, mine was doing the same thing at 18,000 miles. Had it replaced under warranty and all is good. The part ranges in price seen it for around $75 up to $200 I guess it depends where you buy it. I'm sure some one will chime in with a good price and location. Or hopefully he is covered under warranty still..... good luck.....
