Archived Guage wire color help

I have the dash apart and am looking for the color of the gauge illumination wire to tap into for a new air pressure gauge I am installing.



Anybody know the color of the wire that feeds the gauge lights on a 1997 ???

As best as I can tell looking at the diagram it looks to me like there is a black and orange wire that is the instrument cluster ground, and maybe a tan and orange that are the hot. I won't bet my bottom dollar on it but it looks right.

Go behind the headlight switch and pick the wire that dims when you attach a test light and turn the dimmer control.

I did a search and came up with somebody saying you could just tap the fuse in the in cab fuse box marked Ilum its a 5 amp sound right ?
